The scheme is for road and bridge works to replace an existing footbridge over Manchester Road (A641) with a new bridge for shared use by cyclists and pedestrians. The bridge is located approximately 2km south of Bradford city centre along the Manchester Road. The scheme will provide improved connections in a network of pedestrian and cycle routes on either side of Manchester Road. The new bridge will provide better gradients of the approach ramps, higher parapets and better connectivity to existing routes and local facilities.

Associated with the bridge works will be earthworks including a reinforced earth embankment in Marshfields Park, removing and modifying a SUDS, road works which will primarily consist of kerbing and paving of footway areas, and soft landscaping.
