Our Approach
Eric Wright Water Ltd is a multi-disciplinary engineering and construction company working in the water and wastewater industry. Our experienced project management and in-house operational teams work with our clients to deliver solutions across the civil and MEICA spectrum. We operate framework contracts with a number of the key UK water companies. Our delivery model provides customer service and value to our clients.
Eric Wright Water aims to be the leader in our field, delivering excellence in engineering and construction within the water industry. We are committed to building long term working relationships with both our clients and suppliers and do this in the spirit of the Eric Wright ethos of working in an honest, non-adversarial and collaborative manner. Our approach to project delivery is fully aligned to that of our clients in terms of Health and Safety and Environmental management; ‘If I cannot do it safely, I will not do it’.

Our team is composed of highly experienced professionals from across the civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering disciplines. Their design understanding and operational knowledge is brought to bear on the service we offer, ensuring we achieve our approach of ‘right first time, every time’.

From our offices in Preston, we can supply mechanical and electrical design solutions bespoke to our clients’ requirements.

Due to the potential for our work activities to be classed as ‘high-risk’ in nature, we recognise the need for ensuring the highest levels of health, safety and environmental compliance together with a ‘right first time’ approach to the quality of our workmanship. Services
Framework contracts
Eric Wright Water is appointed to a number of frameworks with Scottish Water, Severn Trent Water, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water.
In-house design (mechanical and electrical)
In response to increasing demand from our clients for a ‘design and build’ service, the company has formed, over the past three years, an in-house design team who cover the mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
Project management
Project Management within Eric Wright Water starts at the pre-construction stage and is carried out by experienced Project Managers and Engineers who have proven track records in the water and wastewater industry.
Civil engineering works
EWW’s team have extensive experience across the broad spectrum of civil engineering activities. The scope of works we undertake ranges from the small value, straightforward and short duration (minor) to the large value, highly complex and long duration (major) projects.
MEICA installation works
Our in-house electrical and instrumentation design and engineering team can provide a fully integrated mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) service to our clients.
Commissioning
Within our team of skilled commissioning engineers we have a vast array of process knowledge and electrical commissioning experience ranging from simple instrumentation to fully automated packages across various process areas, including flow control, chemical dosing, process control and power management.
Instrumentation and controls
We provide solutions for an operating plant to run automatically through complete end-to-end based solutions, comprising of measurement and control of process variables within a process typically level, pressure, temperature, flow, and electrochemical water related instruments such as pH, dissolved oxygen and chlorine, etc. allowing processes to operate reliably, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Planned and preventative maintenance
EWW are well versed in the delivery of PPM projects through our framework undertakings for Severn Trent Water, Scottish Water and the Environment Agency.
Reactive maintenance / breakdown repairs
The staff identified in our framework structures have a broad range of skills and are experienced working in dynamic environments and have responsibility for making day to day management decisions for their operational areas.
