Eric Wright Group Supports Symphony at the Tower

The Eric Wright Group has pledged its support for the Symphony at the Tower weekend – a two-night musical spectacular set to be the biggest and best year yet as St Catherine’s Hospice celebrates its 30th anniversary.

This year the event which is held at Hoghton Tower will feature Status Quo on Friday July 3rd and classical male group Blake with Britain’s Got Talent runner up Lucy Kay and the Heart of England Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday July 4th.

The Quo, who’ve sold more than 118 million records worldwide including classics like ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’ and ‘Whatever you Want’, will follow in the footsteps of James Blunt last year and The Human League in 2013 by headlining the first of the two-night music event. The legendary rockers, made up of co-founders Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt along with Andrew Bown, John ‘Rhino’ Edwards and Leon Cave, have recorded 64 British hit singles – more than any other group – and promise a night of classic rock pop anthems which are guaranteed to have the crowd singing and dancing along.

The following night, on Saturday July 4th, BRIT award-winning classical vocal group Blake will take to the stage. The fabulous three-piece, who will accompanied by The Heart of England Philharmonic Orchestra, sold more than 100,000 copies of their debut album and won a classical BRIT award in 2008.

Blake will be joined by Lucy Kay who scored her first number one, after her stunning debut album Fantasia shot straight to the top of the Classical Album Charts. The classical singer who shot to fame on last year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent has been tipped as the ‘next Katherine Jenkins’ and certainly looks set to follow in the Welsh star’s footsteps after her recent chart success.

The two-night event will close with a spectacular firework finale.

Lorraine Charlesworth, director of income generation at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “We’re delighted to have the support of the Eric Wright Group once again as we celebrate Symphony at the Tower and 30 years of St Catherine’s Hospice.

“It’s set to be a weekend of incredible music and fantastic performances. The atmosphere at the Symphony is always wonderful, and we know this year it will be extra special as we celebrate three decades of the hospice in style.”
Jeremy Hartley, group managing director of the Eric Wright Group, said: “The Eric Wright Group is pleased to support St Catherine’s Hospice again this year. Symphony at the Tower is such a fantastic event which many of our employees attend and which we are proud to be associated with.”

Picnics are welcome at the Saturday night show, but food and drink cannot be brought into the arena on the Friday. Weekend tickets and VIP packages are also available and 16s and under are free for the Saturday show. Symphony at the Tower 2015 takes place on Friday July 3rd and Saturday July 4th.
