Eric Wright Wins Best New Building Award Two Years Running

Maple Grove Developments’ mixed use scheme at Ripon has been awarded the highest accolade by Ripon Civic Society for the second time in only two years.

At the 7 October ceremony at Ripon Spa Hotel, the audience heard David Winpenny, chairman of Ripon Civic Society praise the design of the new Booths supermarket and retail units for the sensitive use of material and architectural form in order to integrate successfully with Ripon’s historic conservation area. Colin Hindley, project designer for Eric Wright Construction, along with Alex McCrickard, Eric Wright Group Architect, collected the Hazzard silver cup for another year’s stay at Sceptre House.

In 2009, Stephen Holden received the same award for Blossomgate Apartments; an earlier phase of the project constructed for Robert Hughes Developments.
