Apprenticeships and Degree apprenticeships
Introduction
Our divisions are constantly looking for talented individuals to join their teams. Apprenticeships offer hands on experience combined with a college course that give you the technical skills required to undertake your job. You will gain a vocational qualification that will allow you to showcase your ability. As an apprentice you will have the opportunity to work with skilled professionals and learn from being part of a team delivering exciting projects.
Jack Hampson, joinery apprenticeship
“My job has changed my life, I genuinely wake up excited about my day ahead at work. I feel supported throughout my learning and career progression. I am still developing and honing my interest in the subjects I am studying, whilst applying them to real working experiences.”
Christabelle Paradzai, apprentice Site Technician
“Instead of going to University I searched for a construction apprenticeship to gain work experience while earning money. I like how every day is different. There are occasionally new challenges which I am learning to manage, and as a result of this, I think I can deal with stressful situations better.”
Jessica Sharples, advanced apprentice
“I found it easy enough to find out how to get into construction, but it was more difficult to get on to a course.
There were three different interviews, it was quite intense. Maybe it would work better if more contractors were prepared to go out to schools to promote apprenticeships as an alternative to university.”
